Surrey Canada Day

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/01/2023
The City of Surrey is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Salish Peoples, including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) land-based nations. With the discovery of unmarked burial sites at former Residential Schools, Canada Day is a day to reflect on the wrongs of the past and how we can all come together to play a part in healing. The City of Surrey stands with Indigenous communities across the country during mourning. Surrey Canada Day is committed to sharing music, education, entertainment, and the cultural practices of many Indigenous and multicultural artists. The City invites residents to come together to experience diverse cultural expression, as well as the best of Canada and its hope for the future.
