30th Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival- Granville Island

Join us to celebrate 30th Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival at the False Creek Community Centre. We return to hosting 3 lantern processions! Celebrate the darkest night and the turning of the year by creating a lantern and joining one of the 3 processions that converge in the Water Park.

5:00 - 6:30 - Pin-Prick Lanterns: $10/lantern *Note: when you finish your lantern you can head outdoors to meet up with any of the 3 processions.
6:00 - Headdress-making with ivy and cedar: Drop in. FREE - while supplies last
7:00 - 9:30 - Nature Lanterns with flower petals and leaves: $20/lantern

6:00 - 9:00 - The Canadian Planetarium. Learn about the night sky with community astronomer Bill Burnyeat
LABYRINTH OF LIGHT
6:00 - 10:00 - The labyrinth has long been used for meditation, prayer and sites of ritual in various cultures around the world. Created with over 500 pure beeswax candles, the winter solstice labyrinth invites you to warm yourself in a self-guided ceremony intended to help release old attachments and envision new possibilities as the darkest night of the year births a new season.
ONLINE TICKET SALES
$11.00 - Children under 13 FREE. Please visit on-site box office on December 20 & 21 for complimentary tickets for eligible children, space pending.
Advance online ticket sales end at noon, December 20 & 21 for respective dates. Ticket purchases are non-refundable. All sales are final.
TICKETS AT THE DOOR
$11.00 - Limited tickets are available at the door from 5:30 PM onward on December 20 & 21. Cash only. Children under 13 FREE.
