Earth Day Birthday Bash

You’re invited to an Earth Day community celebration at Fresh Roots’ first schoolyard farm. Celebrate 10 years of growing food and community on school spaces in the Lower Mainland with FREE family-friendly activities, a celebration ceremony, and cake. Whether it's your first time or your 10th year with Fresh Roots, we encourage you to join us for a birthday bash like no other where all of it first started ten years ago on the schoolyard farm at Van Tech Secondary School.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Community members are encouraged to bring an ingredient to add to our COMMUNITY SALAD and a reusable container to feast together, a delicious representation of Fresh Roots’ vision that all are accepted and have the potential to give and grow together on our schoolyard farms, just as you are.
More activities will include:
- Kid-friendly, ALL AGES fun with our Experiential Learning team
- Hands-on work in the garden beds
- Community booths
- An interactive engagement piece to share your Fresh Roots story
- A ceremony to speak on the impact of Fresh Roots and to mark its 10th year anniversary with cake
