Children ages 5-13 (Grades K - 8) can be inspired to think big, dream big, and to foster curiosity about an enormous universe in which the boundaries appear unlimited. Learn about the mysteries of the universe and the latest in space exploration in this award-winning program from a real astronomer - a Consultant for NASA who worked with space telescopes. Each week-long camp meets M-F from 3:00pm to 5:00pm ET each day and includes dozens of fun STEM hands-on activities.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Looking for a Fun Astronomy Camp done Virtually, well this one's Out of this World! With our Summer Astronomy Camp, children ages 5-13 can be inspired to think big, dream big, and to foster curiosity about an enormous universe in which the boundaries appear unlimited. The spark of interest often ignites in young minds where the abc's of the universe are brought to light.  For other age ranges of campers and weeks outside of what is listed here, please contact the Camp Director.

Exciting week-long sessions for children grades K-8 begin in May and extend into September, with lots of fun STEM hands-on activities as they are guided into the mysteries of the universe by a real astronomer who was a consultant with NASA and worked with a space telescope.  The entire week is filled with constant fun and excitement as everyone experiences a supernova explosion of new knowledge and understanding in this virtual journey throughout the cosmos.  With the understanding of some simple terminology and concepts, they are better informed about space and the celestial objects that reside overhead. Some of the many outrageous activities include constructing a starfinder, using Oreo cookies to see the phases of the Moon, and building an actual telescope from a kit provided by the camp.
