Casey Thomas-Burns: Home for the Holidays
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 12/06/2025
Whether on the bandstand or behind the baton, Casey Thomas-Burns brings a distinctive blend of charisma, creativity, and classic swing to the stage
“Swingin’, singin’, and sparkling,” trombonist and vocalist Casey Thomas-Burns brings infectious energy and compelling artistry to the Canadian jazz scene.
Join us for a festive celebration of jazz classics and holiday favourites this December! Casey leads her quartet in a performance that blends the timeless elegance of the Golden Age of Jazz with the joyful spirit of New Orleans hot jazz, and of course, some Christmas classics.
Best known as the founder and director of The Leading Ladies, an 11-woman big band, Casey has been recognized by JUNO-nominated bassist Jodi Proznick as “the future of arts leadership.” A West Vancouver native, you may remember Casey and The Leading Ladies’ recent dazzling debut at the Kay Meek celebrating International Women’s Day.
