Spring Break Camp | Kids Out and About Vancouver

Spring Break Camp

Our Spring Break Camp is a fun, hands-on program for Grades 2–3 learners to explore how their amazing brains work. Through play, creativity, and STEAM activities, campers discover their individual strengths, practice self-awareness, and build social confidence—all in a supportive, neuroaffirming environment where differences are celebrated.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

For four days, campers will dive into a world of discovery that blends science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) with social learning and neuroscience. Each day includes fun activities designed to spark curiosity, self-acceptance, and teamwork. Activities may include:

  • Games and creative challenges
  • Science investigations and puzzles
  • Group play that builds social confidence
  • Robotics and assistive technology

Along the way, campers practice essential skills like:

  • Self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-advocacy
  • Initiating and sustaining play with peers
  • Resolving conflicts and repairing relationships
  • Perspective-taking and empathy

Neuroaffirming Approach

We use a neuroaffirming framework—acknowledging, supporting, and celebrating neurodiversity. Campers do not need a diagnosis to attend, but they should feel comfortable hearing discussions about brain-based differences. Every child will learn about their amazing brain in a safe, supportive environment.
