Cedar Heart Weaving with Rita Kompst

Join Rita Kompst of the Musqueam Nation for a workshop on traditional Coast Salish cedar weaving. Participants will learn about the cultural and traditional techniques of Coast Salish cedar weaving. Using the cedar bark that was harvested and prepared by Rita herself, participants will weave their very own cedar hearts!

We are offering two sessions for this workshop. When registering, please select your preferred time slot.

Date: Saturday, April 29, 2023

Time: 10:30am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Tickets: $70 for non-members, $60 MOV Members, $45 Indigenous Peoples

A service fee, processing fee and GST is also applied to ticket sales. Please note that this price point is based on covering the artist’s fee and materials.

Workshop is open to all ages – children 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. One ticket to this event includes supplies for one cedar heart.

Spaces are limited. Register early. Masks are recommended but not required.
