Little Brains (4-6 years) Weekly Themes: (repeat every two weeks)

July 7-11:

9:30-10:30am: Robotics Engineering
Let’s dive into the world of robots! Little Brains will discover what makes robots move, how they are built, and how we use them to do tasks. Using VEX 123 hardware and fun programming tools, they’ll design and create their very own robot friends—like robotic animals, machines, and toys. With their curiosity and creativity, they’ll learn the basics of coding, building, and problem-solving in this exciting adventure!

11:00-12:00pm: Chemical Engineering
Mix it up with some fun chemistry experiments! Little Brains will explore how materials change, discover cool chemical reactions, and even make things like slime and bubbles. Through hands-on experiments, they’ll learn about solids, liquids, and gases while using their creativity to solve problems with chemistry!

1:00-2:00pm: Mechanical Engineering
Little Engineers will get their hands moving and learn about simple machines—like pulleys, levers, and gears—and how they make life easier! They’ll design and build their own machines, explore how energy makes things move, and have tons of fun working as a team to solve mechanical challenges.

2:30-3:30pm: Software Engineering
Ever wonder how games and apps are made? In Software Engineering, Little Brains will learn how to program computers to follow instructions and solve problems! Using simple coding tools, they’ll get creative and have fun making their own digital creations!

July 14-18:

9:30-10:30am: Civil Engineering
Calling all builders! Little Brains will learn how to create awesome structures like castles, bridges, and roads. They’ll explore how different materials and forces work together to keep everything standing tall and strong. With fun building projects, they’ll design and test their own creations!

11:00-12:00pm: Aerospace Engineering
Zoom to the skies! Little Brains will discover how planes and rockets soar through the air and space. They’ll learn the science behind aerodynamics, gravity, and thrust, then use their creativity to design their own flying machines—whether it’s a rocket or an airplane—while having a blast!

1:00-2:00pm: Manufacturing Engineering
How do we make all the things we use every day? Little Brains will explore how things are made, from toys to snacks! They’ll discover how factories and assembly lines work and have fun designing and building their own products using STEM principles!

2:30-3:30pm: STEM 360
Get ready to try a little bit of everything! STEM 360 is an exciting program where Little Brains will explore six types of engineering: Aerospace, Robotics, Civil, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Software. They’ll design, build, test, and improve their projects, while discovering which type of engineering they enjoy the most!

July 7-11:

9:00am-12:00pm: STEM Olympic Challenge
Get ready to compete in the ultimate STEM Olympics! Students will build a mini crossbow, program robots to compete in a tug-of-war and soccercompetition using VEX IQ hardware and VEXcode. They’ll also design Nano bugs and race them in the ultimate super train race. Who will take home the gold?

1:00-4:00pm: Robotics Engineering Challenges
Dive deeper into robotics with advanced programming and sensor-based challenges. Students will use VEX IQ models and VEXcode to tackle obstacles, play robot games, and navigate their robots through obstacle courses. It’s a week of coding, building, and solving real-world challenges with their robots!

July 14-18:

9:00am-12:00pm: Crazy Science Challenge
It’s a week of wild and wacky science experiments! Students will launch water rockets, build a truck with a mechanical hook, create a hydrogen fuel cell, and explore solar energy. Plus, they’ll make their own ice cream and learn about production line manufacturing!

1:00-4:00pm: Challenging Construction
Let’s build! Students will learn about simple machines, construction, and engineering design. They’ll build their own solar-powered bike, design bridges, and tackle a tower maze. Plus, they’ll learn how to create their own zip-line sail!

July 21-25:

9:00am-12:00pm: Aquatic Amusement
Get ready to make a splash with buoyancy and water propulsion experiments! Students will build their own boats, submarines, and even a waterslide while learning how water affects movement and design. This is a week of fun in the water!

1:00-4:00pm: True STEM Heroes
It’s time to be a STEM hero! Students will save marine life from an oil spill, create non-Newtonian fluids (like solid water!), generate electricity from wind energy, and build their own solar-powered car. They’ll learn about sustainability and become environmental champions!

July 28-August 1:

9:00am-12:00pm: Challenging Physics
Dive into the world of physics with fun challenges! Students will build a roller coaster, create a crash-resistant cabin, design a catapult, and build their own dragster. They’ll discover the laws of physics while having fun with hands-on projects!

1:00-4:00pm: Robotics Engineering Challenges (Updated)
Students will continue exploring advanced robotics, using VEX IQ hardware and VEXcode to solve complex programming and mechanical challenges. They’ll design robots to complete tasks, race them, and participate in obstacle courses!

August 5-8 (4-day week):

9:00am-12:00pm: True STEM Heroes
Be a hero with STEM! Students will tackle environmental challenges like saving marine life from an oil spill, creating non-Newtonian fluids, and building a solar-powered car.

1:00-4:00pm: Aquatic Amusement

August 11-15:

The competition heats up with the STEM Olympics! Students will compete in robot challenges, including robot soccer, tug-of-war, and train races. They’ll also design and build their own mini crossbow and more!

August 25-29:

9:00am-12:00pm: Scratch Game Design-Software Engineering Challenges
It’s all about coding and creating! Students will design and code their own games and websites using Scratch, sharing their digital creations with the world!

1:00-4:00pm: Adventure Vacations
Pack your bags for an engineering adventure! Students will design their dream vacation projects, including building an airplane, hot air balloon, skyscraper, and even a sailboat!
