Blustery Fraser Canyon

Super Weekend is a monthly program geared toward families. There are lots of activities that explore different features of the Fraser River, from its booming industry to its diverse ecosystem!

The Fraser Canyon is known for having some of the strongest winds along the Fraser River, with the windiest periods typically occurring during the winter and spring months. During this period, strong winds are often associated with Pacific storms that bring moisture and intense weather systems to the region. These storms can bring significant winds, especially in areas like Fraser Canyon, which is known for its mountainous terrain that can funnel and amplify wind gusts. Join us on January 25th – 26th and February 22nd – 23rd to explore how the unique geography of the Fraser Canyon shapes the weather patterns of the Lower Mainland through engaging science demonstrations, storytime and hands-on crafts!
