Campers are involved in every aspect of the camp show. They create sets, props, and costumes, perform live musical accompaniments, sing, dance, act, and create a fine art exhibit. The children have a sense of pride in their accomplishments when they see their hard work and creativity come together at the end of the two weeks.
This year, in honour of our 20th anniversary, we will be celebrating the life-cycle of the remarkable monarch butterfly…with a few comedic commercial interruptions.
Founder and Director Erin Deighton has been running Camp Monarch for the past 20 years! Monarch Arts Education’s goal is to motivate children to achieve their true potential in the arts within a positive and encouraging environment.
We will be following current COVID-19 health protocols, as outlined by the provincial health officer so your time at Camp Monarch can be worry-free.
We hope your children can join us this summer!
Our program is held at Presentation House Theatre, 333 Chesterfield Ave. in North Vancouver, BC. Classes run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with one hour for lunch.
Before and After Camp Care is available (8:00 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm). After Camp Care is not available on the last day of the summer camp, due to the final performance.
Students are divided into groups according to age and experience.
The second week of the summer camp finishes with a performance for family and friends. The performance runs from 2:30 to 3:30 on the last day, followed by a reception and gallery showcasing the camper's art.
To guarantee individual attention, class sizes will be limited. Register early!
