City Nature Challenge | Kids Out and About Vancouver

City Nature Challenge

The City Nature Challenge is back from April 25–28! Help monitor biodiversity by joining from anywhere in Metro Vancouver—from city parks to coastal beaches. Just use the iNaturalist app to record wild plants, animals, or fungi. Observations made during this time support ecological research. Create an iNaturalist account, join the FRDC project, and upload your finds by May 4. Explore our quick start guide, events, and resources to get involved—let’s discover nature together!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

City Nature Challenge is back! You can contribute to community science during this global biodiversity challenge no matter where you are, from downtown Vancouver, to paddling the Pitt-Addington Marsh, to exploring the beaches of White Rock! Observations collected during this period are used for monitoring biodiversity and ecological research.

From April 25th to April 28th, use iNaturalist to make observations anywhere around the region, and they’ll be added to this project!
