Family Art in the Garden: Let's Draw Birds!

Join illustrator Bea Martin at VanDusen Botanical Garden to celebrate Earth Day with a fun, all-ages drawing workshop: Let's Draw Birds! Participants will learn tips and tricks for drawing our feathered friends, with a special focus on the cheekiest little bird we all know and love, the Black-Capped Chickadee. While being guided through the drawing workshop with easy-to-follow steps, participants will learn fun and interesting facts about some of Vancouver’s most familiar birds. Sketching first in graphite pencil, Bea will offer guidance on how to add colour to your finished drawings. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to take their creations home.
Not an artist? No problem! All skill levels are welcome in this family-friendly workshop.
Materials are included, however, participants are welcome to come with their own sketchbooks and preferred drawing materials.
Children must be accompanied by an adult for this program. Supervision of children is the responsibility of the parent or caregiver at all times. Best suited to children ages 5 and up.
