Oshkagoojin Indigenous Theatre for Youth is visiting Vancouver from Winnipeg for two free days of Indigenous youth theatre workshops on August 25 and 26.
Indigenous youth ages 8-18 are invited to explore theatre through games, storytelling, movement, creative play, Indigenous knowledge and cultural exchange. No previous theatre experience is necessary.
We know that joining a new program where you do not know anyone can feel intimidating. Youth are welcome to bring someone they know, including a friend, sibling, mentor, youth worker, parent, auntie, uncle or another trusted person. Older youth and supportive adults are also welcome to participate alongside them.
Workshops run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on both days and are completely free. Snacks will be provided.
Come for one day or join us for both. Our goal is to create a welcoming, playful space where Indigenous young people can make theatre, connect with others and have fun.
