ART ON THE FARM

Dates: July 7-11 , ages 5-11 or July 28-Aug 1, ages 5-8
Do you like to play with your food? Wanna make a snack that’s almost too cute to eat? How about painting with dirt, or making a naturally dyed shirt? Join us as we use the bounty of the farm to make fantastic creations of all kinds! On our field trip, we’ll see how gardeners and landscapers create living works of art with plants.

ECOWONDERS

Dates: July 14-18, ages 5-11 or August 11-15, ages 5-8
Bring your sense of wonder as we explore all the life of the farm! We’ll explore how plants grow from seeds, how worms make our soil fabulous, and how our farm depends on healthy air, water, and soil. And we’ll take a walking field trip to see how ecosystems change throughout neighbourhoods, and/or get a chance to Meet-A-Farmer and ask our farm team how they work with the ecosystem to care for our farm!

SEED TO SALAD

Dates: July 21-25, ages 5-11 or August 18-22, ages 5-8
Where does your food come from? Who helps it get to your plate? We’ll follow our food from seed to salad, and meet the people who help it get there, including our Farmers and Chefs!

ARTIST ON THE FARM

Dates: July 28 – August 1, ages 9-12
Take farm art to the next level. Work with your team to create nature and farm-related artworks to keep, and some to stay on the farm as a legacy project! You’ll practice your drawing, painting, and crafting skills each day, plus make delicious food and get your hands dirty helping the farm to grow.

ECOHERO

Dates: August 11-15, ages 9-12
You can be an EcoHero, on the farm and in your community! Learn how our ecosystems and the farm are connected, and develop a legacy project to make the farm a healthier home for the many living things who call our farm home. Plus, make delicious food, get your hands dirty helping the farm grow, and create awesome art projects.

FARMER TO CHEF

Dates: August 18-22, ages 9-12
Dive deep into the human systems that get food onto our plates, track your snack back to its source, and be part of the local food system in action. Work with your team to create more complex meals and snacks, and adopt a section of the farm to care for during the week. Plus, you’ll meet farmers and chefs, create awesome art, and more!

A TASTE OF THE FOREST

Dates: July 28-Aug 1
Join us in the Earth Spirit Medicine Garden and Healing Forest at Suwa’lkh School in Coquitlam! We’ll make forest teas, fight off alien invaders, learn from local Elders, and see how we can help salmon make their way home. Plus, we’ll taste the summer bounty of both garden and forest.

DIFFERENT SPACES, DIFFERENT FACES

Dates: August 11-15
Who is living in the garden? Who plays in the forest? Who is eating from the orchard? Who drinks from the stream? Come meet the living things that call the Suwa’lkh garden and farm their home!

A TREE STORY

Dates: August 18-22

How do trees help our environment? Which animals make their home in trees? What roles do different types of trees have in the forest, and what can we learn from them? Campers will dive deep into the roots of dendrology (the study of trees) and meet some of the trees that call Suwa’lkh home. We’ll build forts and learn about the nests made by different creatures in the forest, and pick fruits from the trees in the orchard!
