Junior NatureSketch Course: Richmond

Join local artist and naturalist Bea Martin for a 5-week junior nature drawing course, exploring art fundamentals for budding artists.

This 5-week Junior NatureSketch Richmond course is taught by artist and naturalist Bea Martin, who will guide you through art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes, and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches.
By the end of this course you will be able to sketch some of the various plants and animals that you find on your nature journey, understand the basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, and understand that everything is made of basic shapes. You'll even learn some basics of nature journaling and new understandings of animals and plants that will encourage you to continue sketching in nature.
