Knight Camp is an award-winning Spring Break and Summer day camp for children ages 8–14, hosted by Academie Duello in downtown Vancouver and now in its 18th year. Campers train in historical swordplay and archery, play medieval-inspired games, and work together in a structured, supportive environment led by experienced instructors.
A core part of Knight Camp is the daily practice of Knightly Virtues—such as courage, integrity, charity, and perseverance. These values are actively taught and reinforced each day, with campers encouraged to recognize and cite one another for their conduct. This culminates in “Most Virtuous Student of the Day” and end-of-week awards that celebrate character as much as skill.
Campers also enjoy hands-on learning through Academie Duello’s arms and armour museum, where they can safely explore historical equipment and deepen their connection to the medieval world they’re studying and playing in. Throughout the week, activities are adapted for different ages and experience levels, ensuring appropriate challenge and engagement for both first-time and returning campers.
Knight Camp offers a progression system that rewards long-term participation. Each time campers return, they advance through ranks—from Page, to Squire, to Man- or Lady-at-Arms, and ultimately to Knight—giving repeat campers a strong sense of growth, achievement, and belonging within the camp community.
The week concludes with a celebratory Friday Grand Tournament, where campers demonstrate what they’ve learned for family and friends in a positive, encouraging setting. Known as a long-running Vancouver favourite, Knight Camp blends physical activity, imagination, historical learning, and character development into an experience kids remember—and return to—year after year. Optional before- and after-care is available to support working families.
