ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Michael Park Is very excited to be a part of RBTL’s inaugural master class series, “From Rochester To Broadway.” Best known for his roles as Larry Murphy in the original Broadway cast of Dear Evan Hansen, Tom Holloway in Stranger Things season 3, and Jack Snyder on As the World Turns, Park also won back-to-back Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2010 and 2011. After he graduated from Nazareth in 1990, he immediately starting working in the incredible community theater world Rochester has to offer and within a couple years he was working regionally, then moved to NYC. On stage, he originated roles in four Broadway musicals: Michael in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Lucky Malone in the revival of Little Me, Angus Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, and Larry Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen, as well as Monty in the Off-Broadway production of Violet, and The College Boy in Hello Again at Lincoln Center. In 2018, for his work in Dear Evan Hansen, Park earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program. Apart from Stranger Things, Michael has been seen in many TV and Netflix shows: House Of Cards, Mindhunter, Gotham, You, and Tales of The City to name a few. He enjoys the chance to pay it forward and pass along what he’s learned (as well as the mistakes he’s made) to the next generation of performer.
