New West Winter Fest – ‘Gifts from the Fraser’

In collaboration with the City of New Westminster’s ‘New West Winter Fest’ campaign, the Fraser River Discovery Centre will be hosting a series of family-friendly activities throughout the day, all with the goal of fostering discovery and appreciation for the Fraser River in wintertime, and inviting us all to consider how we can engage with and learn about the river all year round.

The Fraser River Discovery Centre is excited to welcome Haida Storyteller Kung Jaadee, who will be presenting her published story Raven’s Feast in the Canyon Theatre throughout the day (12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm). Her story shares a simple but important message: each of us has a gift to share with the world, and we should also learn to love ourselves. Dressed in her traditional regalia, she uses her rattle, drum, and songs to enhance her stories while also teaching about Haida language and culture December 14th.
