Public Works Open House
Meet the teams and machines that keep our City running. Join us for our first annual Public Works Open House on Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the City Operations Centre (61 Bewicke Ave). This free, hands-on, all ages experience is in celebration of the annual National Public Works Week (May 17 to 23), raising awareness of the importance of public works and recognizing the professionals working behind the scenes. This year’s theme is “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community”.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Public Works staff maintain the services that support our community, from keeping streets safe and accessible, to caring for parks and green spaces, and maintaining the water, sewer, and drainage systems that serve homes and businesses across the city.
Whether you're curious about how city services operate or looking for a fun outing with the family, the Public Works Open House is a great opportunity to learn more about the work that keeps our community moving.
