The Riveting World of Raptors

Owls, eagles, hawks, oh my! Join us in the Garden for this exciting Family Nature Program and meet live raptors with a private one-hour presentation by the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (O.W.L.), dissect an owl pellet to learn about what these cool birds eat for lunch, and tour the Garden to explore the habitat needs for urban birds of prey with fun activities & games.

Did you know owls, eagles, hawks, falcons & even the occassional osprey can all be seen right here at VanDusen Botanical Gardens? As a biodiversity hotpsot in the city, this urban oasis provides habitat and hunting grounds for a number of riveting raptors.
Join us in the Garden for this exciting Family Nature Program on Saturday, June 24th from 1:30pm - 4pm focused on these amazingly adapted top predators of the skies:
- Meet special guest educators and live birds from the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (O.W.L) in a 1hr presentation
- Take a guided walk to learn more about the raptor species that frequent the Garden while keeping our ears and eyes open for our resident Barred owls
- Dissect a real owl pellet to learn about what these predatorory birds eat for lunch
- Learn fascinating facts about these and other incredibly cool raptor species through fun games and activities
Registration must be purchased for EACH Adult & Child in your group for admission to the program.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Best suited to children 5+.
