The Delta Police Pipe Band was formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. Since the Band’s inception, it has grown to its present strength of 30 pipers and 20 drummers. The Band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Steve Ramsden and Drum Major Ron McMillan. The band uniform is complemented by the Ancient Smith Tartan, worn in honour of the Band’s co-founder, the late Chief Constable M.W. Smith. The band proudly represents the Delta Police Department and the City of Delta, at home and around the world.
