Earth Heads is based on experiential learning. Classes cover a range of topics that help children explore, become more connected, and gain knowledge about the ecology of Vancouver and surrounding areas. There are many ecosystems to explore in our urban areas, from marshland, streams, and ponds to forests and shorelines. The classes are designed to give children an insight into their environment, giving them real-life context to help them understand how the world works and how they fit into it.

Classes cover a range of topics that help children to explore, become more connected and gain knowledge about the ecology of Vancouver and surrounding areas. There are many ecosystems to explore in our urban areas, from marshland, streams and ponds to forests and shoreline.

The children will use tools like microscopes, viewing scopes, ID books and other aids to help them learn and explore their environment. Classes feature games, songs, stories, props, specimens and cool experiments. Most of all, we have lots and lots of fun!

Exploring artifacts relating to the subject plant or animal
Scientific method
Science experiments
Stewardship opportunities
Art and poetry
Pond dipping to find amazing aquatic creatures
Searching for unusual insects
Delving into the life and times of animals and plants found in the forest, along the shoreline and in the pond
Games related to the subject animal or plant
Have the opportunity to become an ornithologist, entomologist or an oceanographer for the day.
