Mastery School of Music is a successful music school located on the UBC campus. Because of its proximity to a number of elementary and secondary schools, it offers after school lessons and classes in sight reading, ear training, musicianship, theory, and ensembles in violin groups, guitar chamber groups, garage band. In addition, on Saturday mornings we run an early music education program combining Orff and Kodaly principles for toddlers to five year olds which are necessary to jumpstart the private music lessons. Our teachers have trained professionally and bring excitement, passion, and strong pedagogical standards to every student.
There is a spirit of excellence fostered as soon as you step into the school. By offering at least four annual student recitals and one annual ensemble recital, performing becomes part of the well rounded music education that is unique to Mastery School of Music. The end result is to draw out of every student an interest in music and an ability to provide creative expression through strong technical skills. During spring break and the summer months, we run fun 1/2 day camps in singing, violin, song writing, music x coding, Little Music Makers and Pop Music Makers.Camps are limited to 10 students so register early by calling 604-568-5854 or 604-345-9680.
