Webb’s Holiday Acres camp program is designed for children ages 6-14.
When the campers arrive, they are shown to their cabins by one of our staff members. The girls and boys sleep in separate cabins with our trained leaders in adjoining rooms. Once everyone has arrived, the camp director explains the rules and introduces all the staff members.
page2The children are split up into three different riding groups. They are taught the basics of riding, grooming, saddling, and handling of the horses. With our skilled staff the children are assigned a horse for the week; or if they’ve been here before, some get to pick which one they want. |

In addition to riding a pony for about 45 minutes per day, children learn how to read a horse’s body language and how to care for their horse. Other activities include grooming, feeding, tacking up, cleaning tack and mucking stalls. You will find it hard to believe that the same children who refuse to clean their rooms are super excited to clean up horse poop! |

Preschool pony camp is about getting comfortable around horses and farm animals, and learning how to be safe on a farm. Campers will spend approximately 20 minutes each day riding their pony one-on-one with our instructor, with time spent learning the basics of mounting, dismounting, walking, steering and stopping. The rest of the time is spent in a group of just 4 kids playing equestrian-themed games and learning about grooming, horse care, and safety around the animals. |
